Celebrating Workforce Development Month: Building Stronger Workforce Ecosystems
September is Workforce Development Month, a time to recognize the people, partnerships, and strategies that connect individuals with opportunity, help employers build the talent they need, and strengthen communities and regional economies.
At New Growth Group, workforce development is at the heart of much of what we do. We see it as more than preparing people for available jobs. Effective workforce development creates stronger connections among employers, education and training providers, workforce organizations, economic development partners, and communities so that talent and opportunity can grow together.
That work can take many forms—from creating career pathways and expanding apprenticeships and work-based learning to aligning education with employer needs, securing funding for innovative workforce programs, strengthening regional partnerships, and measuring results.
Throughout Workforce Development Month, New Growth will be sharing insights from our work with partners across the country and exploring some of the elements that help workforce initiatives succeed: employer demand, strategic funding, meaningful partnerships, and measurable outcomes.
