State Investment Strengthens Ohio Manufacturing Workforce Partnerships and Talent Pipelines

Strong workforce partnerships continue to prove their value across Ohio.

Nine manufacturing-focused partnerships endorsed by the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association recently secured state funding as part of a broader investment in regional workforce collaboration. These awards will help local organizations strengthen talent pipelines, align training with employer demand, and create more opportunities for Ohioans to enter and advance in manufacturing careers.

Congratulations to:

🔹 Advanced Manufacturing Consortium

🔹 AMIP Cincy

🔹 Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (COMP)

🔹 Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA)

🔹 Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition (MVMC)

🔹 Raise the Bar Hancock County

🔹 Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership

🔹 Workforce Connect Manufacturing Sector Partnership – Cuyahoga County

🔹 The Workforce Partnership of Putnam County

What stands out about these efforts is their commitment to collaboration. Manufacturers, workforce organizations, education providers, economic development leaders, and community partners are working together to address workforce needs at a regional level—creating solutions that are responsive, sustainable, and employer-driven.

New Growth is proud to have supported several of these successful awards through writing, development, and proposal review. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that strengthen Ohio’s workforce and support the long-term competitiveness of the state’s manufacturing sector. New Growth’s Grant team wrote two of the successful proposals (GCPs (Northeast Ohio Talent and Employer Alignment Project | Cleveland Talent Alliance and Ohio Industry Sector Partnerships). As part of our work with OMA, we reviewed/ scored/ provided technical assistance to the following successful applicants: Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP), Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership (COMP), Dayton Region Manufacturing Workforce Partnership (DRMWP), Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition (MVMC), Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership (SCMWDP), and Workforce Partnership of Putnam County, Inc (WPPC).

Investments like these reinforce an important lesson: when employers and community partners work together around a shared workforce strategy, the results benefit businesses, workers, and entire regions.
