A recent visit to Northern Illinois combined a bit of baseball nostalgia with on-the-ground evaluation work for the Northern Illinois AMPED Consortium, funded through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community Colleges Round 4 grant. While a baseball trip added some fun — including stops at Highland’s Little Cubs Field, complete with its iconic ivy-covered outfield fence, and Beyer Stadium, home of the Rockford Peaches — the primary focus was the work of developmental evaluator Nikki Glazer Stoicoiu of New Growth, who conducted interviews, focus groups, and campus and lab tours.
