HHW Ohio and Seeds of Literacy Partner to Strengthen Workforce Readiness

HHW Ohio is proud to announce a new partnership with Seeds of Literacy, a Cleveland nonprofit dedicated to adult literacy, math skills, and GED preparation. This partnership exists to meet WISE Pathways participants where they are. Some women enter our workforce program reading at a third-grade level, and a resume or an application cannot fix that on its own. Real workforce readiness means developing the whole person, not just the job-ready parts.

More than half of adults in Cuyahoga County are estimated to lack proficient literacy skills. That number touches everything: the jobs a woman can apply for, the certifications she can pursue, the wages she can earn. Through this partnership, WISE participants who need foundational literacy or math support will receive a warm hand-off to Seeds of Literacy’s specialists, so no one is asked to build a career on a foundation that was never built to hold it.

Our goal is simple: leave no woman behind. By connecting participants to the right support at the right time, HHW Ohio and Seeds of Literacy are working together to ensure that every woman who walks through our doors has what she needs, not just to get a job, but to keep building a future.
