TECH CORPS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring K-12 students have equal access to Computer Science and Information Technology programs, skills, and resources that enhance early learning and prepare them for college and career. To understand the depth of K-12 Computer Science implementation in Central Ohio (where TECH CORPS is headquartered) schools, a teacher survey was developed to measure existing Computer Science interest, resources, needs, and opportunities. New Growth collected, cleaned, and analyzed the survey data to summarize the landscape of Computer Science education across the Central Ohio region. Results were compiled into an in-depth report and presentation, detailing key findings across nearly 500 survey responses.
Furthermore, New Growth collaborated with TECH CORPS to refine and streamline existing student surveying processes for existing TECH CORPS (formal and informal) programs; taking into consideration student age, program outcomes, and data analysis.
Based on the teacher survey report, TECH CORPS has actionable steps regarding the expansion of Computer Science professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers in Central Ohio and beyond. They also have a process in place to continue to collect survey data from students, resulting in continuous improvement for their programming.
